the.educationalizer (name subject to change) is where I talk about education, learning, the ESL industry, educational technology, and everything in between. If it’s ESL-related and/or interesting, it might appear here.
I am a 16 year veteran of education, starting out in the tech sector (web design, scripting, software at the vo-tech and corporate levels) before switching to ESL some twelve years ago. In that time I have taught every age group from pre-school to senior citizens, though the vast majority of my classroom time has been in the university.
In addition to teaching, I have also worked extensively in curriculum development. My work has appeared in dozens of ESL textbooks and multimedia projects, and I designed a blended/flipped course for academic writing used by thousands of students at Soongsil University in Seoul, South Korea. The standalone workbook, “Foundation of Freshman English Writing” (I didn’t choose the name) is still available through Korean shopping sites, apparently. I don’t earn any royalties from it any longer, so don’t feel like you need to buy it.
Currently, I am teaching at Istanbul Sehir University, in the English Preparatory Program.
You can also find me at crfsanders.com, where I focus on the art and, dare I say the science (no, I daren’t), of creative writing. And you should absolutely find me on Twitter @crfsanders. That would be smashing of you.
